Kyra

Multi BIMBS, Multi RBIMBS, URO1, USJ, U-GrCH, BISP, RBIS Int'l/Nat'l CH Fayek Pitch Black V Firefly CGC, WAC (AKC Major pointed), or Kyra (pronounced Keer-rah) is the newest addition to the Firefly Family. She was born on March 1st 2009. Her name comes from two closely related movies, Pitch Black and the Chronicles of Riddick. She is an AKC registered black and rust female. She was bred by Elizabeth Zellmer of Fayek Dobermans in Wisconsin. She is the daughter of Int'l Ch Aquarius She's All That (AKC Pointed), Vicki (Trotyl daughter, litter sister to 4 Champions including Top 20 Contender, Garbo and her favorite Uncle, Rush) and Sired by Ch Sevenly Proof is in the Heir, Eragon (Thriller son). She has a 3/4 Argentine pedigree, which includes Inaqui and Lex. She was Futurity Nominated for 2009 and attended the National. We had a great time at our first National! Kyra has started her show career in UKC and AKC, be on the look out for updates on our News page. Kyra is owner/handled. We plan to do many other things with Kyra as well like Rally, Obedience, Agility, Lure Coursing and more... We're hoping for a ROM, is that too much to ask for? She is a happy go lucky girl, always up for a good romp around the house or a nice long nap with her many, many, many stuffy toys. She squints her eyes and smiles at you (no teeth, she pulls the corners of her lips up), it's the cutest thing in the world! She always has to have some toy in her mouth when she greets you. She's a true social butterfly and loves nothing more than a good butt scratch! Kyra has recently discovered Dock Diving and she LOVES it!! We look forward to working on her titles for that too! She has acquired several nicknames since she has been with us...Krazy Kyra, Kangaroo, and Lady Rah Rah being a few of the most used. They are VERY fitting nicknames for this little bugger! She makes Meejin laugh and smile every day and she can't imagine life without her!

Arcee

U-RO1, U-CH, Int'l CH Firefly's More Than Meets The Eye CGC, or Arcee (pronounced R-C) is the daughter of Jasmine and Bodhi and was born on January 11th 2008. Her name comes from the Transformers and Arcee was the only female Autobot in the old school cartoon. She is an AKC registered black and rust female. She was the 1st born out of 10 pups and she came into this world screaming her little head off. We knew she was going to be a spunky girl! She has been retired from the conformation show ring and is currently training in Rally and Agility. She will be trying out Lure Coursing soon. She loves treats and playing fetch and hates the rain...just like her Daddy. She is very vocal ...just like her Mommy. She has a very high prey/play drive. She will play tug with you for hours! She enjoys going for walks/runs around the neighborhood (aka squirrel hunting). She is the best bed buddy, she will stay in bed with you ALL day long! Her fun nickname is Artsie-Fartsie. A friend mispronounced her name as Artsie and well, Fartsie just fit because she can be pretty "fartsie" sometimes! We more affectionately call her Pumpkin.

Athena

Athena CGC is a Boxit (Boxer/Pit mix) born in the spring of 2003. She is named after the Greek Goddess of Wisdom. She is the sweetest thing and will lick your skin off if you let her. She has mastered the sad face and is not afraid to use it to get her way. She loves to play ball and snuggle up with just about anyone who will let her. Her tail wags a million miles a minute when she's happy and she will snort at you to get your attention. It doesn't seem to bother her at all that she is the oddball in the house. She must think she's a Doberman! She is nicknamed "Mama-Dog" as she was the first dog to join the group.

Jasmine

Davis’ Jasmine CGC, WAC is an AKC registered black/rust female born February 14th 2005. She is named after Princess Jasmine from “Aladdin”. She has a big bark and is cautious of strangers but is very loving and affectionate to her family. She is the perfect surragate Mom to just about any puppy we've ever brought into the house. Puppies love to just follow her around and imprint off her. She taught baby Kyra how to eat grass! She was a wonderful Mother to her litter as well. She attended 1 beginner Obedience Competition class with Bodhi but would much rather lounge around the house than "work". She comes from heavy European working lines and is slightly over standard in size. Her fun nickname is Spaztastic Jazz or just Spaz and when she is happy her whole back end wags, not just her tail and she will cringe her lips up and smile at you! She truly is Kris's "Princess".

Bodhi

U-RO3 Pike’s Crimson Bodhi RN, CGC (pronounced Bo-dee) is an AKC/CKC registered red/rust male born June 4th 2006. He is named after Patrick Swayze’s character in “Point Break”. He is the “Man” of the house. He is very loving and affectionate, loves to cuddle with people he knows and trusts. He also LOVES to play ball. He is very good and playing search and rescue (the ball). He finds it every time! He has attended 2 beginner Obedience Competition classes with the local kennel club (the 2nd time just for fun and extra practice) and has also “graduated” from Petsmart Intermediate and Advanced classes. Bodhi also had a very short stint in the show ring. He attended handling class and one Match but it just wasn't his "thing". He obtained his Rally Novice title in the fall of 2008, UKC Rally Level 1 title in the fall of 2009, and Level 2 in the fall of 2010, Level 3 in early 2011. He will be working towards other Rally titles in the near future as well as working on traditional Obedience and maybe some Agility. Bodhi dabbles in a little bit of everything but he is best at being a loyal, loving companion to his owner and her friends. We call him Bod (B-ode) or Bodalicious because he's so delicious! He also used to be nicknamed Jimmy Dean, can you guess why?

Bodhi is neutered as of June 2008.

Prince Milo Humperdinck

Otis Wan Kenobi

Milo and Otis are Firefly’s furry feline friends who were named after the movie “Milo and Otis”. Their full names come from two other movies, can you guess which ones? They get along great with the dogs and you can sometimes catch Milo rough housing with Bodhi. Otis would rather play with Milo or curl up next to you on the couch. Otis may be a girl and not a Pug, but she is still Milo’s best friend.
