U-CH Fayek Pitch Black V Firefly, or Kyra (pronounced Keer-rah) is the newest addition to the Firefly Family. She was born on March 1st 2009. Her name comes from two closely related movies, Pitch Black and the Chronicles of Riddick. She is an AKC registered black and rust female. She was bred by Elizabeth Zellmer of Fayek Dobermans in Wisconsin. She is the daughter of AKC pointed/Int'l Ch Aquarius She's All That, Vicki (a Trotyl daughter, litter sister to Garbo and Rush) and Sired by Ch Sevenly Proof is in the Heir, Eragon (a Thriller son). She is Futurity Nominated for 2009 and attended the National. We had a great time at our first National and hope to return soon. Kyra has started her show career in UKC and AKC, be on the look out for updates on our News page. We plan to do many other things with Kyra as well like Rally, Agility, Protection and we will definetly try for her WAC when she's older. We're hoping for a ROM, is that too much to ask for? :) She is a happy go lucky girl, always up for a good romp around the house or a nice long nap with her many, many, many stuffy toys. She's never met a stranger and LOVES to make new friends (human and canine) every chance she gets. She has acquired several nicknames since she has been with us...Krazy Kyra and Little Monster being two of the most used. They are VERY fitting nicknames for this little bugger! U-CH/Int'l CH Firefly's More Than Meets The Eye CGC, or Arcee (pronounced R-C) is the daughter of Jasmine and Bodhi and was born on January 11th 2008. Her name comes from the Transformers and Arcee was the only female Autobot in the old school cartoon. She was a pink Race Car so it is fitting that our Arcee has a pink collar and leash. She is an AKC registered black and rust female. She was the 1st born out of 10 pups and she came into this world screaming her little head off. We knew she was going to be a spunky girl! We plan to do fun things with her like Rally, Agility and maybe Tracking and Protection. She loves treats and playing fetch and hates the rain...just like her Daddy. She is very vocal ...just like her Mommy. She has a very high prey/play drive. She will play tug with you for hours! She enjoys going for walks (aka squirrel hunting) and having "play dates" with her friend, Odin, the husky pup and occassionally even some of her siblings that live in VA. She also really enjoys playing with her Terv friend, Tia, from handling class. Her fun nickname is Artsie-Fartsie. A friend mispronounced her name as Artsie and well, Fartsie just fit because she can be pretty "fartsie" sometimes! Arcee is vWd Carrier (VetGen). Arcee is spayed as of November 2009. |

Athena CGC is a Boxit (Boxer/Pit mix) born in the spring of 2002. She is named after the Greek Goddess of Wisdom. She is the sweetest thing and will lick your skin off if you let her. She has mastered the sad face and is not afraid to use it to get her way. She loves to play ball and snuggle up with just about anyone who will let her. Her tail wags a million miles a minute when she's happy and she will snort at you to get your attention. It doesn't seem to bother her at all that she is the oddball in the house. She must think she's a Doberman! She is nicknamed "Mama-Dog" as she was the first dog to join the group. Athena is spayed as of Fall 2002. |

Davis’ Jasmine CGC is an AKC registered black/rust female born February 14th 2005. She is named after Princess Jasmine from “Aladdin”. She has a big bark and is cautious of strangers but is very loving and affectionate to her family. She attended 1 beginner Obedience Competition class with Bodhi. She is a very well behaved girl, the only one that we can trust to leave in the house alone. She comes from heavy European working lines and is slightly over standard in size. Her fun nickname is Spaztastic Jazz or just Spaz and when she is happy her whole back end wags, not just her tail and she will cringe her lips up and smile at you! Jasmine is vWd Carrier (VetGen). Jasmine is spayed as of December 2009.

U-RO1 Pike’s Crimson Bodhi RN CGC (pronounced Bo-dee) is an AKC/CKC registered red/rust male born June 4th 2006. He is named after Patrick Swayze’s character in “Point Break”. He is the “Man” of the house. He is very loving and affectionate, loves to cuddle with people he knows and trusts. He also LOVES to play ball. He is very good and playing search and rescue (the ball). He finds it everytime! He has attended 2 beginner Obedience Competition classes with the local kennel club (the 2nd time just for fun and extra practice) and has also “graduated” from Petsmart Intermediate class. Bodhi also had a very short stint in the show ring. He attended class and one Match but it just wasn't his "thing". Bodhi also graduated Petsmart Advanced class. He obtained his Rally Novice title in the fall of 2008, now on to Rally Advanced and UKC Rally! We would like to try Tracking/Search and Rescue with him in the future as well. Bodhi dabbles in a little bit of everything but he is best at being a loyal, loving companion to his owner and her friends. Bodhi comes from old Marienburg lines and his ancestors include Dexter Vom Franckenhorst, CH Marienburg Sun Hawk, and CH Bruda Teller of Tales. We call him Bod (B-ode) or Bodalicious because he's so delicious! He also used to be nicknamed Jimmy Dean, can you guess why? Bodhi is vWd Clear (VetGen). Bodhi is neutered as of June 2008.

Milo and Otis are Firefly’s furry feline friends who were named after the movie “Milo and Otis”. Their full names come from two other movies, can you guess which ones? They get along great with the dogs and you can sometimes catch Milo rough housing with Bodhi. Otis would rather play with Milo or curl up next to you on the couch. Otis may be a girl and not a Pug, but she is still Milo’s best friend.
